Depending on the case, we usually offer a flat rate on your NY name change. This enables the lawyer working on your case to focus on just completing the work instead of billing hourly. Our usual attorney fee for a name change will range from $1,250-$4,500, again depending on the work involved and the specifics of the case. There are other fees that go along with name change applications outside of New York City:
$210 filing fee to obtain an Index Number;
Publication fee payable to a local newspaper in order to fulfill the publication requirement. In Westchester County it is $60 and it varies from county to county;
Certified Copy fee for each Order usually at $6 each (usually three).
